Charming Italy Weddings
Wedding venue and period
April, May and early June are wonderful: green countryside, roses in bloom, pleasantly warm temperatures. September and October may be even more beautiful: gorgeous golden light, the grape harvest in full swing and mild weather. July and August are magical but hot — sometimes above 35°C. I know every venue intimately and will always advise you on the best season for your chosen location.
An agriturismo is a working farm converted into a venue: rustic, authentic, often with its own wine and olive oil. A villa is more elegant and formal, with beautiful gardens and sometimes a private chapel. A borgo is an ancient hamlet that you typically hire out in its entirety for your wedding weekend.
With most of the venues I offer, yes. Guests stay together in one place, which creates a wonderfully relaxed and festive atmosphere across the whole weekend. Capacity varies from around 10 to over 100 beds. You can also choose to hire the venue for a core group and arrange nearby accommodation for additional guests.
Practical advice & paperwork
Yes, absolutely, but it requires some preparation. The documents are straightforward to obtain if you are both from an a European country, the EU or comparable jurisdiction, though exact requirements vary by nationality. I recommend starting the process 3–6 months in advance. I have extensive experience guiding couples through this, whatever their nationality.
A civil ceremony is a legally binding marriage before an Italian registrar, held at a town hall or in some cases at a licensed venue. This marriage is legally recognised in your home country (subject to registration upon return).
A symbolic ceremony takes place at the venue of your choice: a villa, agriturismo or vineyard and you handle the legal side at home before or after the trip. This option gives you complete freedom over the form and content of your ceremony.
A church wedding is possible if at least one of you is baptised and confirmed as a Catholic. I work with local Italian parishes and have extensive experience coordinating Catholic weddings for international couples. You can also get married with a protestant ceremony in Italy if wished.
For weekends in the popular months of May, June, September and October I recommend 12 to 18 months in advance (up to two years for the most sought-after venues). The most beautiful venues book up quickly. For a smaller wedding or a weekday ceremony we can sometimes start with less lead time. Two personalised quotes are entirely free, so don't hesitate to get in touch even if you are still in the early stages of dreaming.
Cooperation and costs
I take care of everything Italy-related: the venue, ceremony, catering, photographer, flowers, music, transport, styling, all other suppliers, the run-of-day schedule, budget management and on-the-day coordination. I am your translator and single point of contact for every Italian supplier.
You remain the link with your own guests: seating plan, room allocation, dietary requirements and guest transfers. But I support you here too, I provide templates and checklists so you can manage this as efficiently as possible.
In short: I take Italy completely off your hands, so your energy goes to the people around you.
Yes. Day coordination is ideal for couples who have booked and managed all their own suppliers and prepared their own run-of-day schedule. On your wedding day I step in to take over the reins so you can relax and enjoy every moment. Please note: a day coordinator is not the right solution if you need help in the weeks before the wedding to chase suppliers, finalise the programme or make bookings, that is what the full planning package is for.
The largest costs are the venue hire and catering. On top of that, think about décor, photographer, music, transport, the ceremony itself and so on. My planning fee is a relatively small share of the total, and it saves you a great deal of time, stress and costly mistakes. You can request a no-obligation quote directly on this site.
Not necessarily. You might invite fewer guests than you would at home and choose a select group for your Italian celebration. Guests can also contribute to accommodation costs, there is no fixed rule. And of course the strongest argument remains the atmosphere, the food, the wine and the sheer beauty of Italy. That is simply priceless. Request a free quote and you will quickly see how the numbers work out for you.
